Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio Completes 13 Affordable Homes
All homes are energy efficient and for first-time homebuyers.
WHAT: This Saturday, March 2, 2019, more than 350 supporters, officials and families will come together to celebrate the completion of 13 Habitat homes built in San Antonio. Habitat builds high quality and affordable homes that last several lifetimes. Habitat homes are friendly to the environment — both energy and water efficient. Homes are built according to LEED Level 1, Energy Star and CPS Smart Energy standards. The roofing and installation of the homes will also keep families cool for the warm summer days that lie ahead. This event’s supporters include a variety of businesses, faith organizations and individuals.
WHEN: Saturday, March 2, 2019
Schedule for the morning:
8:00 a.m. – 350+ volunteers will be building on site
10:00 a.m. – Program begins (words about Habitat, house blessings and family recognitions)
Spoiler alert! – new County Commissioner Justin Rodriguez to take part in the program
10:30 a.m. – Opportunity to tour completed energy efficient homes

Habitat plans to build 53 homes in 2019. The organization was founded in 1976 as the first U.S. affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat has built 1,081 homes since 1976 in San Antonio.
