Governance & Leadership

Leadership From Diverse Members of the Community

Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio is led by a passionate, dynamic team of executives (some with over 20 year tenures) and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of San Antonio community leaders. Habitat’s President and CEO reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the day to day operation of the organization with the support of his/her management team. Habitat relies on strong partnerships within the San Antonio community to provide the necessary volunteer and funding support needed to serve our families in need

Staff Leadership

Habitat For Humanity

Natalie Griffith

President & CEO

“Habitat is such an amazing organization.  We are very mission focused while being careful stewards of all our resources – our donor’s funds as well as our volunteer’s and staff’s time.  We continue to strive for better ways to do our work and to ensure that we efficiently and effectively manage our blessings and resources.  Our bottom line is to serve our hardworking families who have a great need for modest, decent and affordable homes.”

Habitat For Humanity

Don L. Griffith

Executive Vice President

“I love Habitat’s mission of helping families help themselves.  That’s why I thoroughly enjoy leading our stores and figuring out ways to add resources to our program.  Many people don’t realize that proceeds from our three building material thrift stores covers our General and Administrative expenses.  This enables 100% of donations from the public to go directly toward homebuilding.”

Habitat For Humanity

Michael Taylor

Executive Vice President & COO

“Habitat builds neighborhoods, not just houses.  Habitat neighborhoods are places where neighbors know each other and help each other out and pride of ownership is evident everywhere.  With the generous support of our donors and volunteers we are able to make this prized neighborhood setting a reality and provide an opportunity for stability and upward mobility for hard-working families.  Our commitment to our homeowners and our neighborhoods is for a lifetime.”

Habitat For Humanity

Stephanie C. Wiese

Vice President of Development and Communications

“Habitat’s supporters are extraordinarily diverse.  One of my greatest joys is working with our devoted donors and volunteers every day.  I love the variety of folks that we work with – businesses, faith organizations, foundations, governmental agencies and people just like you and me.”

Habitat For Humanity

Kim Kopecki

Chief Financial Officer

“Homeownership provides such great stability to families, and most importantly, their children.  I love that Habitat homes forever change the lives of our hard working families.  I am thrilled that I am able to witness God’s love in action every day as we empower families to build and own their own affordable homes.”

Habitat For Humanity

Susan Ablaya

“What inspires me the most is working with our hardworking families.  By working hard on their sweat equity hours you truly get the sense of how much they want to better their lives for themselves and their children.  At the end of the day I know we have done our part by keeping our organization strong and staying focused on our mission of serving families in need.”
