COVID-19 Statement – updated May 1, 2020

Since we are deemed an essential business our doors remain open with some added precautions.

During this health crisis, more than ever, we are seeing how important it is to have an affordable and safe place to call home.  How do you shelter ‘in place’ with no shelter?

Habitat is guided by our mission and the following goals and objectives.

Mission

Families in Bexar County are still in great need of decent, truly affordable homeownership.  The lack of it is a crisis in our community. Habitat’s mission is important and continues to be needed, in some cases desperately, by the families we serve. We need all areas of our operations (stores, building on-site and working with families in need) to achieve our mission!

Jobs

Continuity of employment and meaningful jobs with the needed benefits Habitat provides are important.

Safety

Safety for our staff, our customers, our volunteers, our clients, and our other partners has always been a priority at Habitat and continues to be one.

We have limited some activities to comply with state and local declarations and added significant precautions in all areas as we continue our operations.  All scheduled events through April are canceled.

Home Center Stores

The Habitat Home Centers are an essential retailer for the communities we serve.  Low-income homeowners, small businesses and small contractors depend on us for low-cost and quality home maintenance and home improvement materials.  We are practicing increased social distancing and enhanced sanitary practices in our stores.  We will continue to serve our community and maintain regular hours at all three Home Center locations as long as it is safe to do so.
