Founded as an ecumenical Christian organization in 1976, Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio is driven by a desire to put faith into action. We believe each house built by Habitat serves as a vehicle for witnessing God’s love.
Born out of a commitment to shared principles, partnerships with local churches and faith organizations play an important part in our goal to eliminate substandard housing. Faith organizations provide us with much needed volunteer, spiritual, and financial contributions. Congregations that partner with us find new ways to express their faith and experience a stronger sense of community through their service to God.
Though we are committed to our Christian identity, Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio warmly welcomes those of all faiths and no faiths to participate in any aspect of our organization.
