Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio has kicked off construction on its newest community in District 5, Cornerstone Village.
Located south of Highway 90, near General Hudnell, Cornerstone Village is a 27-lot community rising to eliminate blight and create much needed sustainable homes for low-income families in San Antonio.
Directly behind SAISD’s Kelly Elementary School, the transformation of empty lots is visibly underway, as volunteers and sponsors work side-by-side with Habitat homeowners to tackle a variety of hands-on duties, including framing, roofing, tiling and painting.
There will be a celebratory House Dedication Ceremony for the first 12 homes in this new community on April 5, while the completion of the Cornerstone Village project is scheduled for early August.
